The new GM800 MF/HF Transceiver is designed for Class A DSC operation and provides a complete GMDSS MF/HF communication system for Commercial SOLAS regulated vessels. The GM800 meets MED, “wheel mark” requirements for European merchant ships.
The GM800 meets the Marine Equipment Directive on European marine equipment requirements and has passed rigorous environmental testing and quality assurance processes. The GM800 is designed to provide reliable operation and long-lasting durability under harsh maritime environments. The front panel of the GM800 has IPX7 protection (1 m depth of water for 30 minutes), and the rear panel has corrosion resistant coating.
The built-in DSC provides automated distress and safety communication. The dedicated DSC watch-keeping receiver continuously scans the six distress channels in rotation. A total of 100 MMSI members for DSC calls can be stored with a 10-character ID name. The DSC Multitask function shows up to seven DSC procedures. The GM800 is also capable of sending a distress relay call.
The 4.3-inch colour TFT LCD provides almost 180-degree wide viewing angle and displays high-resolution characters and function icons. Even when the radio is installed to the instrument panel, the operator can clearly recognise the display information from various viewing angles. The night mode display ensures good readability in low light conditions.
A combination of the directional keypad and soft keys provides simple operation. Most used functions are assigned to soft keys (at the bottom of the display) for quick one push function access. Clearly labelled keypad provides straightforward entry.
The GM800 MF/HF Transceiver has been designed to be fitted comfortably on any commercial bridge and blend in with other instrumentation. The GM800 features a waterproof remote head that can be neatly installed on a bridge while the ‘black box’ controller discretely mounts out of the way and out of sight.
By adopting a new waterproof paper speaker cone, the speaker provides superior sound quality and a flat frequency response with a wide frequency range.

Compact and with a robust modern construction, the IC-M85E contains critical commercial features including built-in voice scrambler ensuring private conversation and emergency features including Man down and lone worker function.
The IC-M85E is the most compact (W×H×D: 56 × 92 × 29 mm) and lightweight (weight: 246 g (with BP-290, FA-SC58V and MBB-3)) commercial grade marine and land mobile hybrid radio in the world (as of November 2017, researched by Icom).
In addition to VHF marine channels, the IC-M85E covers 136–174 MHz PMR channels. Up to 100 programmable channels are available for PMR use. Each channel is programmable with CTCSS and DTCS tone.
The IC-M85E has three emergency related functions: Selectable MOB Alarm (when used with other IC-M85 radios), Man Down and Lone Worker functions. If one of these functions are activated, the radio automatically makes an emergency alarm.
The radio has a built-in Voice Scrambler and provide private communication between stations (32-code, compatible with UT-112 voice scrambler unit).
Channel group changing (Marine PMR) or the scrambler function ON/OFF can be assigned to the multi-function button on the top panel*. The Key lock function can be activated by holding the button.

The IC-GM1600E Marine VHF handheld has been designed for GMDSS compliant survival craft communications. The radio is engineered to survive and function in the extreme environmental conditions common in marine emergencies and brings the latest Search and Rescue technology to the marketplace.
Meets strict environmental requirements for GMDSS survival craft radio. The IC-GM1600E meets “Wheel mark”, MED certification Since 1999, SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) has set the international standards for life rafts and their emergency equipment. Icom’s IC- GM1600E is the latest and most advanced handheld to meet these rigid standards including built-in GMDSS technology. The IC- GM1600E meets temperature, thermal shock, vibration and drop resistant (from 1 m height) requirements.
The BP-234 provides up to 8 hours operation even at –20ºC!
The IC-GM1600E is waterproof to IP-X7 specifications. It features a new, “Speed Water Removal” function that quickly sheds water from the speaker system, assuring you sharp, clear communications even in the worst conditions.
All knobs are sized for quick operation and the large, well-labelled buttons feature a positive action “feel” with a programmable beep tone for sure operation.
The IC-GM1600E’s high-intensity LCD read out offers high-contrast, wide-angle readability with 4 levels of contrast and 3 levels of backlighting. There are new, bright, LED indicators for easy recognition in all types of weather/lighting conditions.
Operation instructions are printed on the rear panel. All operation can be made with one hand.
The IC-GM1600E’s shock-resistant housing is constructed of a brightly coloured dye-injected polymer assuring this essential piece of emergency equipment will always be easy to find, in a survival bag, in a life raft, and in a pinch.
